Looking at the dire weather forecast for the next few days, I took my chance with a break in the weather today when the sun came out and the blue skies appeared for just a few hours. I picked up my bike in Falmouth this morning, and originally I planned to cycle to Land’s End straight from there, but instead with the rain I trained it to Penzance and then biked the 15 miles to Land’s End. It was crazy how the weather changed so quick and the skies opened up, the wind was still horribly strong and head on but getting to see Land’s End in the sunshine was amazing!
Can you spot my little buddy who will be accompanying me on the ride???
It felt amazing to finally be at the beginning and with my bike! Today only marks the first 5 miles as I’m staying at St just YHA hostel for 2 nights before the real ride starts. I’m ready for a chill day tomorrow and then October 1st I hit the road for Lanivet. 6 months in the planning has come down to this!!
I’m going to need all the luck in the world and good thoughts and prayers for clear skies and a little sunshine!
5 Miles done! Bam!
