Excited to have my info pack through for The Overland Track! It’s made me alter my original plan a little bit and add an extra day on the trail! I’ve made a list of (a lot of) shit I need to acquire before the trek – because I have almost nothing for hiking! I need a tent, sleeping pad, stove, utensils, food, water filter… you know just the basics… 🙂
I’m not hugely worried – Back in October 2014 a friend and I hiked the Hadrian’s wall in the UK with barely nothing and NO planning… All we had was a spare set of clothes, a tent, a stove, and for food we had a big bag of pasta and a jar of pesto, packets of ‘cup-a-soups’ and cereal bars! I think we were on the trail for 6 days and we somehow survived with just that food! (admittedly there was one day where we happened upon a gas station, and we did gorge ourselves with as much junk food as we could – here we also found a random place to shower and camp!) I have a diary about this trek stored someone amongst my stuff that I’ll hopefully come across it again some time and write it up on here!
More than ready to spend 8 days out in the wilderness.
36 days to go…
